The Christmas Play

We have been practising very hard at school for the Year One Christmas Play - A Soldier's Story. I was a soldier, and Mummy was very pleased as my costume was a school jumper and some black trousers! I had a line to say as well "the shepherds made their way to Bethlehem Town".

We did two performances. The dress rehersal was on Friday afternoon last week and Mummy, Nanny W, Lisa, Marie, Abbie and Charlie came. Everyone really enjoyed it - the only shame was that lots of people in my class were poorly. There are usually 28 people in Hedgehog class, and on Friday there were only 17! Mrs Francis said she has never known so many people off at the same time!
We did our evening performance on monday. Daddy, Nanny P and Grandad came to watch. They said it was brilliant. In both shows I said my line really loudly and clearly and Mummuy and Daddy were very proud of me!

Me and my nephew

Charlie came round to play last weekend - we had great fun with our light savers and the other toys! Charlie likes to copy what I am doing, even when I watch TV!

Christmas Pose!

Mummy and Daddy are always trying to get a nice photo of all three of us - here is their attempt at a family christmas shot!

Abbie's Birthday

It was Abbie's second birthday a couple of weeks ago. We were supposed to go round to her party after I had finished Club Energy, but I wasn't feeling very well so Mummy came to collect me at 3.15 instead. Mrs Francis said Mummy was very lucky as I had just been sick (which is very unlike me!). I came home and had some calpol and felt a bit better so Mummy said we could go to Abbie's party for a little while.

When we got there everyone was very excited and Abbie liked opening her presents (she loved her huge Peppa Pig!). We had a party tea (although I didn't eat very much as I was still feeling a bit sick!) and played Pass the Parcel, which I won. (It was 4 pots of play dough). Me, Abbie and Charlie had great fun playing on Lisa's old sofa!

We then came home and got ready for bed. I felt a bit better the next day but still had to have the day off school as I wasn't right!

Putting up the Christmas Decorations

The day after Daddy's birthday, we decided to put our decorations up. (Mummy knew it was very early but it was the only free weekend we had to do them!).

We had loads of stuff to bring down from the loft room and we had to unpack all the boxes to remind ourselves what we had. Once we had the tree up it was great fun putting all the decorations on it. Sam helped (although I think he took off more than he put on!) Once the tree was finished Daddy lifted me up and I put the angel on top.
Our lounge looks lovely and christmassy now!

Daddy's Birthday

A couple of weeks ago it was Daddy's birthday. As it was on a Saturday, Daddy was lucky enough to have football, and as an extra treat he didn't have to take me with him as Mummy had arranged for us to play with James and Lucy.

When we got back from Bracknell, Lisa, Danny, Abbie, Marie, Charlie, Alfie, Hannah and Tom came round. We had a great time playing and when Daddy came back with Nanny we had a delicious chinese takeaway. After some more playing everyone went home and I went to bed. Hope Daddy had as much fun as I did!

I am a Free Reader!

Two weeks ago I finished all the reading books in the Reading Scheme at school. Level's one to nine were lots of different stories based on Duck Green School and the children who went there. Level 10 was 6 non fiction books, about making decorations, new year celebrations, fireworks and so on. These were okay but Mummy enjoyed the story ones better!

On Thursday (book change day) when I had finished all the Level 10 books, I went to see Mrs Eagle as I was the first one in my class to be a Free Reader. I got a Head Teacher's award sticker and was put in the Happy Book!

So, every thursday I get to chose my own reading book from the library. So far I have picked one about a zoo (easy), a Robin Hood one (hard - Mummy said the story for a bit too old for me) and one about Rats (just right!). I really like reading my own books now!

I am Batman!

A couple of weeks ago we went into Farnborough on Saturday morning. In Queensmead centre they had a lady painting faces for free, for Christmas. When it was my turn I chose to be Batman. I think the lady did a really good job and Mummy was pleased as there wasn't too much make up to take off!

I think Father Christmas got a bit of a surprise when we went to visit him at the garden centre that afternoon with Sam, Maddie and Charlie!
